About Cindy Reid

Cindy Reid, PMA-CPT, is the creator of JumpBoard Dynamics, and Director of Flow Pilates and Wellness Studios, founded in 2002 in Chicago, IL. Introduced to Pilates in 1993 while dancing professionally, Cindy has been teaching Pilates for over 20 years, and dance and exercise for 25. Cindy is a Host and Senior Faculty member for BASI Pilates™, and Host and Faculty for Balanced Body's CoreAlign Teacher Training Program. Cindy is also certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in Group Fitness and by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She presents workshops at Flow and nationally which focus on injury prevention and optimizing movement technique.

 

In 2010, Cindy started Jumpboard Dynamics: a teacher training program she designed to elevate the instruction level and benefits of jumpboard classes. Cindy offers training in jump technique, and a new repertoire and vocabulary for teaching Jumpboard. She has now presented over 20 workshops and trainings at Pilates on Tour conferences and in studios nationally.

 

Cindy earned her MA from Northwestern University in Performance and Choreography. To enhance her knowledge of human movement potential, she has extensively studied functional anatomy and movement science and such topics as: joint dysfunction and alignment, spinal conditions, pre- and post-natal issues, biomechanics of gait, pelvic floor disorders, the aging body, as well as performance training for advanced athletes and dancers. Among her mentors, Rael Isacowitz and Karen Clippinger have provided her with a deep perspective and holistic approach to wellness and optimal movement.

 

Cindy teaches regular Pilates, CoreAlign™, and Jumpboard Dynamics classes at Flow, and instructs privately students of all ages and abilities. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and 2 young children.
